The Sower Curriculum

Welcome to the Sower Curriculum! This open-source collection of teachings is an unofficial branch of The Wesleyan Church, dedicated to making biblical learning as accessible as possible to anyone across the world.

The Sunday School and discipleship material available on the Wesleyan Workshop website has its foundations in older Wesleyan teaching materials, and from collaborators and missionaries around the globe. Different churches and Christians have also added to our catalogue, whether through writing, translation, or coordination. Since we are using older materials no longer in circulation, or are creating our own curriculum, this allows us to provide everything on our site copyright-free, without legal restrictions, since we have or have been given the rights to do so.

Our main criteria for adopting materials are 1) that they be Biblically sound, and 2) they be in line with the Wesleyan doctrine. And of course, we strive for our writings to be excellent, challenging, and inspiring, as should be the case with any attempt to explore and share the Word of God.

Our process for hosting material on this site is, once we've received something, to first translate it into English. Once it's in English, we look for translators who can help us both translate and contextualize the work into their native tongue (this step is where most of our curriculum is at, currently). Once we have material in a new language, we upload it to the Wesleyan Workshop site, where it can be accessed by anyone, at any time. After that, we are ready whenever a new country reaches out to us, restarting the process: working with a coordinator who will help edit, translate, and curate that material for a new context, and then hosting it on our site.

So far, our material has only made it into a handful of languages, and we're in the process of adding several more. Our hope is to eventually have a full curriculum for both the Bible and discipleship, in all of the languages listed on our site—and more!

Right now, our main need is for collaborators to participate in this mission, helping to find and write material, and, more importantly for our situation, translating what we already have into languages we have not yet reached. If you are interested in helping, you are more than welcome to join or contact our team! You can do so by visiting our Volunteer Page. How to help us translate is simple: download a .docx file, and either translate it or work with someone who can. In return, all we ask is that you submit the translated material back to us, so that it can be added to the site and so make it available to whoever might need it.

If you have any questions, or are interested in supporting our mission, please contact us.

Our greatest desire is to be an instrument of the Lord, for the discipleship and growth of His church. So come, join us in this work!
